HubSpot Content Strategy






Allow me to explain.
Hubspot’s raison d’être is to help companies convert prospects into customers and existing customers into delighted customers.
Semantics aside, that’s what salespeople have been doing for centuries.
Technology now allows for automation of much of that process.
In two words Marketing Automation.
Anyone disagree with any of that?
The difference is Hubspot uses Content as the core ingredient, leveraging it through blogs, social, webinars, etc to help make sales happen.
The ultimate model for marketing automation is Amazon.
Hubspot is able to manage and automate the appropriate use of relevant content throughout the sales cycle.
So why was I confused?
Well, according to our definition, what Hubspot provides is pure Content Marketing, but they craft the content message so well that it conforms to everything we have learned on this course apart from the piece that says if the end result is ‘profitable customer action’ then it is not Content Strategy.
So is this thread about the Content Strategy of a Content Marketing SaaS provider or is it about a Content Marketing SaaS provider also providing Content Strategy?
Confused? I was.

I should add that I love what they do. I haven’t used their software, but I think I understand their vision. I was trying to achieve a similar goal years ago with interactive multimedia sales tools. The advancements are incredible. Now it’s like a finely-honed marketing machine.
