"Horses for Courses"

To my fellow Courserans, in the interests of incremental improvement, I do agree that the video introductions are a little too long to be comfortable. But when we look back and ask ourselves why we enrolled on this course, we may find it surprising just how much mind share has been devoted to this topic. A simple post to one of the feedback threads below could have been sufficient to achieve the desired result and may have taken less than one minute. Instead a dedicated thread has mushroomed into sizable proportions that we may think, once the point had been made, became a significant diversion away from the core course material. What this means is that many, many of us may have invested an order of magnitude more time discussing the intros than was lost by watching them. If we compare the mind share given to the Video Intros thread to Prof. Lavine’s own thread on how and why the iPad Air video sets a new direction for the Content of the world’s largest technology firm, we may be surprised.
