I am fascinated with the topic of how information is changing and how it is best presented to people for consumption. Pinterest clearly indicates a preference for visual information. Each Pin has a limited text character allowance - I think 500 characters. That might be just the right amount for today’s — as you say “diminishing…attention span” — to absorb the essential nuggets.

The idea put forward here is that you expand your content progressively on different platforms, so Tumblr would have a nicely formatted short-form article and your site would have the meaty detail to download as a whitepaper for example.
