Pinterest's warm and fuzzy voice
Great example of communicating in a way that reflects the corporate objectives and values.
I’ve worked in a Bank where the associates get so fed up with customers not understanding the bank’s rules, that they start to see all customers as “stupid” and it is reflected unconsciously in the way they communicate.
On Pinterest, I’ve often wondered about how much consideration Pinners give to copyright infringement. It seems that the only way to build a massive following is to use images of the most exquisite quality possible so that other people want to pin them and follow you for more. However, images of such high quality are often from photographers that don’t want their work pinned for fear of diluting the exclusiveness…or whatever. In short, they make a living from the quality of their work.
I think Pinterest is something special. It reveals our inner dreams in visual form. Much more than any other social platform, it strikes at the core of what drives us - our hidden meaning if you will. Wow, it’s powerful. Pinterest has a deep psychological profile of its users that really hits the bull’s eye for marketers. Somewhat scary in a way. I just wish there was another way for users to add value in addition to pinning the prettiest pictures…and potentially infringing copyright hundreds of times.
