Evernote | We discussed its Content Strategy, but how about discussing how we use it for organizing/consuming content?

But two key features are missing for me:
  • an integrated Reading View

  • a better way to create and organize Notebooks

The reading pane in Evernote doesn’t provide a ‘Readability Style’ reading mode. There is a browser extension called ‘Clearly’, which provides a nice reading view while you are browsing but it mysteriously doesn’t work on the Evernote reading pane itself.
iOS does have a ‘presentation view’ but it’s a premium feature as described here.

On the subject of Notebooks, what I find is that, because I have so many Notebooks, whenever I create a new one, it is somewhat problematic to nest it inside an existing Notebook. I find myself naming new notebooks, e.g. ‘11_Content Strategy’, so that at least the new Notebook is created at the top of the alphanumerically sorted list — then I can drag it down to nest in another Notebook a little more easily, but it’s by no means ‘slick’.

What are your thoughts? How do you use Evernote?
