Whole Foods Blog vs P&G Everyday

Both are credible and trustworthy.
Do both enhance the organizations strategic goals?
  • Whole Foods Co-CEO’s say their goal is “to balance the needs and desires of our customers, team members, shareholders, suppliers, communities and the environment while creating value for all.

  • P&G’s CFO said: “”Value creation for consumers and shareowners is our top priority”.

Both sound pretty similar to me.
How about transparency?
  • P&G has a separate website, which offers “lifestyle” advice and money-saving coupons.

  • Whole Foods’ Blog is directly on it’s main branded site, but also offers lifestyle value.

What about a hidden agenda? Is either site specifically designed to drive “profitable customer action”?
Not really, when you consider the proportion of value-add contained on both sites. Most of the content is to educate, inform, provide value.

Seems to me there’s a fine line between Content Marketing and Content Strategy when you consider that good Content Marketing is designed to be authentic and to build relationships and trust.
What do you think?
