I’ve been lucky enough to have been influenced by strong women in my life. My mother was a strong woman. She lived with cancer and its ongoing treatment, in and out of hospitals, the works, for decades. She was remarkable. She never complained. She used to say you have to put your best foot forward. I’ll never forget that. I was also inspired by a great female country leader. She rose from a modest working class background to be one of the greatest leaders of modern times. I worked for a Valley firm with a female CEO who also happened to be a cancer survivor. She was a straight talker. A straight shooter. Everyone knew where they stood with her. She was inspirational and yes, she was very tough. It’s difficult for me to appreciate what we call ‘the world’s view of professional women’. I think the ads play to some old-fashioned notions of stereotypes too often. I think they do it to try to break through. It’s tough to be heard, as we all know. But it’s not necessary to go backwards anymore. We should be moving forward in our thinking. Any demographic or psychographic group that has struggled to move up to a level playing field has had to be pushy. Without being pushy, how can they have progressed. Without it, we’d all still be in serfdom. What happens in the ‘man’s’ game of American Football or Rugby? That’s right, it’s all about pushing, advancing. It’s the way of the world. Now we have a new paradigm on the horizon. The world of ‘pull’. Great content pulls people towards it.
It’s good to be here and thanks for posting.

[BTW, loved the slowed down rehashed version of Tears for Fears…]
