FACEBOOK | Has it reached its peak?
They remind me of AOL in a way. Back in the days of dial up, there were several choices of ISP, but the people spoke and AOL became synonymous with going online. They grew to an enormous size for the stage the Internet was at (30m), but insignificant to where Facebook is now. Somehow though AOL lost its grip. The same could happen to Facebook. It is pretty easy to close your account, download your full history of data and choose another platform. They give you this 2 week ‘grace period’ to think about it, but technically they could go bust in a few months if something drastic happened and a competitor e.g. Google, or perhaps a new entrant, offered a painless ‘migration package’ that automatically loaded all your data and re-established all the contact relationships for you.
